This project wasn’t just about photographing a building. It was about documenting a defining piece of Fort Worth architecture.

Today, Fort Worth City Hall stands as one of the city’s most recognizable modern landmarks. Before becoming the civic center of local government, the building served as the former Pier 1 Imports headquarters, a corporate icon that shaped the skyline for decades. That layered history matters. It connects Fort Worth’s commercial past to its present leadership.

Architecturally, the structure is unmistakable. Its vertical rhythm, reflective glass façade, and strong geometric form make it one of the most photographed buildings in downtown Fort Worth. At golden hour, the mirrored exterior absorbs the Texas sky, reflecting light, movement, and the surrounding cityscape. From an aerial perspective, the curved entrance and structured landscaping reinforce the precision of the design.

As an architectural photographer based in Fort Worth, my goal was to capture both the clarity of the structure and the symbolism behind it. This is not just a government building. It is a repurposed corporate headquarters that now houses city leadership, public offices, and civic decision-making.

Every line is intentional. Every shadow reinforces depth and dimension. The building does not compete for attention. It commands it through proportion, material, and restraint.

Photographing Fort Worth City Hall required balancing technical precision with narrative awareness.
